Ask a new question. I am refreshing a laptop that came with Office Pro. The Dell did not come with disks and not being a primary computer and older I do not want to have to buy another Office subscription for this no available installs.

This is not stealing because it free a product I have already paid for. It won’t have the bells-and-whistles of Office but that’s like driving a Minivan and not downloqd a backup camera. Yes it would be nice, but that feature was not available. There are features of Office that are not inbut I am willing to live with that for the purpose of the computer.

I want to download it from a reputable site, like Microsoft’s or a trusted vendor, rather than one I have to worry about them embedding a virus in the download. If Office was preinstalled on the computer when you purchased it, your only option is to locate a restore or recovery disc from the PC manufacturer.

I have a copy of office professional plus and I copied it to another hard disk for backup purposes. MS no longer supports Office That means no more updates and no online downloads. They really want to „encourage” people to „upgrade” to You will have to find someone who has the appropriate installation disk or installation file.

Try local, small computer shops, computer geeks, computer clubs, even businesses. Nerds tend to keep old installation disks, and sometime computer shops and corporate IT departments „forget” they have old disks sitting in boxes at the back of closets Installation files have to be exact match to product key.

Did you have Office Professional or Professional Plus. Similar names, but different installation files! They are dumbed down versions of the Office apps that are associated with your free OneDrive space. They are only adequate for simple files. Another option is to find someone in your family or friends who has Office Family and has not „used” all of the available 5 free „shares”. Or find someone s who would like to share the cost of family.

If you decide to go with Family, try to find someone who works at a company that has lots of licenses.
